Suerte - Lucky Hour - Everyday 5-6PM - Discounted Drinks & Snacks

The Deal

A contemporary East 6th location serving Mexican specialty dishes & cocktails, Suerte does so many things muy excellente. For this happy hour make sure you come on time or make a reservation in advance, because if you walk in around 5:45pm you may miss out on their killer deals. As always, I suggest getting in at the bar if you can since the service there is exceptional. You'll get a variety of special pricing for their "Lucky Hour." Cocktails, wine, mezcal, beer, it's all on discount.

Manzanita & Don Dario

The Bar

The bar staff here is very attentive. Once your drink hits the 30% mark, you may have two or three bartenders asking you what's next from their list of "lucky hour" deals. Their discounted cocktails feature tequila and mezcal, the Nada Paloma, Don Dario, and Manzanita. For those seeking a sweeter beverage, the Manzanita highlights a house apple soda with a blanco tequila. A house grapefruit soda leads the way for the Nada Paloma, served with mezcal and tequila. And finally the Don Dario provides the "margarita-ish" flavors if that's your go-to tequila based cocktail. Reposado tequila, tamarindo, sarsaparilla, and lime, a fantastic post work relaxer. Note that these featured cocktails come in at a reasonable $6 each, half priced for happy hour. The fun doesn't stop there, wine by the bottle and 3oz Familia Mezcal Pours are also 25% off. You'll also find a local lager for $3, but make sure to ask about the mezcal & half beer combo. It's an off menu deal for those looking to turn happy hour up to level 11.

Duck Tacos (but with a much fancier name)

The Snacks

If you're new to Austin then you've probably already noticed our endless love for tacos, and Suerte knows what's up. They feature a taquitos del dia for happy hour, or taco of the day for the Spanish deficient, which is my suggested cheap treat coming in at $5. They come two per order and they're surprisingly filling. All of the Snackcidents are $5 as well, so make sure to get an order of the chips con refried lentils & yogurt. It's a deliciously interesting take on bean dip for anyone that lives that chip life. It should also be noted that they have a killer brunch and dinner menu. If you come for happy hour and never leave, that's completely supported and acceptable.
