The community

Harvest Ridge is Elgin’s established master plan, just east of Austin off US 290, and it holds a distinction worth stating plainly: published starting prices in the high $100s, which as of July 2026 makes it about the lowest new-construction entry point in the Austin metro. The community is far enough along to feel like a neighborhood rather than a construction site — amenity center and pool built, parks in use, and a brand-new elementary school inside the community. It’s a straightforward, unpretentious place, and at this price that’s exactly the point.

The homes

Brohn Homes is the active builder, with plans from very compact two-bedroom homes around 1,074 sq ft up to five-bedroom two-stories near 3,000 sq ft. Published pricing runs from the high $100s to the mid $300s. Lots are small — 35–50 ft widths, roughly 0.10–0.15 acres — and homes sit close together. Builder rosters rotate by phase, and other builders have participated in earlier sections, so verify the current lineup. Our standing advice at this tier: the base price gets attention, but confirm what it includes. Measure the actual plan against your furniture and your commute gear before falling for the payment math.

Location, schools, and the drive

Harvest Ridge is zoned to Elgin ISD, with the on-site elementary a genuine daily-life advantage — verify current attendance zoning all the same. Elgin’s historic downtown and its barbecue institutions are minutes away; larger retail runs mean US 290 toward Manor and Austin. Figure 35–50 minutes to central Austin, 25–30 minutes to the airport or Tesla via SH 130, and about 20 minutes to Samsung’s Taylor campus, which is quietly becoming this corridor’s anchor employer. For how Elgin fits into the east-metro growth story, see our Elgin guide, and cross-shop Trinity Ranch on the other side of town before you commit.
